Lot 1572
An early 19thC musical pocket watch stand c1810 - 1820, comprising a decorative cast brass figure of Robinson Crusoe in typical pose, holding a gun in one hand and a parasol topped with a parrot in the other, standing next to a cast brass palm tree which holds a later 1890 - 1900 watch movement or clock. The rosewood base beneath contains a very early musical movement with sectioned comb in groups of four teeth, the front holds a mother of pearl panel with stop start and tune change controls, the spring motor is wound via a cord. The clock and musical movements are separate and not intended to work together. These musical clocks were the forerunners to the ornate Victorian musical boxes. Case approximately L25 x W12cm, overall height 25cm. Movement serial no. 8427 playing two airs

HOFNER CLUB 60 GUITAR - beautiful 1958 Hofner Club 60 guitar (serial number 228). In good condition with original pickup, ebony fretboard and headstock with mother of pearl inlay. Tortoiseshell scratch plate still in place though it has been reattached at some point. During its one owner lifetime it has also had the volume control and on off switch altered. The on/off switch is now at the top of the body above the lower fretboard while the volume control panel has been replaced with two new rotary knobs. A true classic that looks and sounds fantastic.
