A late 19th century French gilt metal figural mantel clock, modelled as a dandy musician seated upon rockwork, his sword at his side, around a silvered Roman dial signed 'Gaillard Dezaire a Vendome', on a sarcophagus shaped plinth with stylised foliate decoration, on foliate feet, the eight day movement signed 'B.P.&F.', no. 6083, with outside countwheel strike, striking on the hour and half-hour, 17in. (43cm.) high., * Condition: Striking correctly and winds, but lacks pendulum. No losses or damage to metal work. Some minor age spotting to gilt in places. Good condition overall.
A porcelain mantel clock, the brass dial within a 'keyhole' shaped rococo case with a purple and pale blue ground and gilded floral decoration, a classical country scene below the dial, standing on a rococo base with a smaller scene of a shepherdess, 10in. (25.5cm.) wide, 13½in. (34.25cm.) high.

(33cm.) high, 8¼in. (21cm.) wide.

Roman enamel dial and backplate, typical rococo style floral and foliate decoration with standing cupid figure, his right hand holding an arrow pierced heart, his left hand bearing a bow, a sash worn quiver to his left hip, the rococo base supported on four scroll feet, 8½in. (21.5cm.) high.

Marti & Cie two train movement, no. 106275.7, with visible escapement and striking the hour and half hour on a gong, the enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals over the compensating mercury pendulum, 8¼in. (21cm.) wide, 12in. (30.5cm.) high.
A French ormolu baroque style mantel clock, late 19th century, the movement with outside countwheel strike, movement signed 'Medaille d'Or Paris 1827' in a roundel, numbered '7-2 243', the drum case with French enamel numeral dial, supported on an open scrolling foliate and rocaille base with seated cherub holding cymbals, on shaped platform with foliate scroll feet, 16in. (40.5cm.) high., * Condition: Working but only briefly as pendulum not original and too small. Currently hangs from looped thread - original attachment missing. Case good with some gilt wear to edges and upper surfaces of casting. Small chip to enamel to edge of one numeral and very minor paint rub to another.
A French chinoiserie style mantel clock by Achille Brocot & Sons, 1900-1920, the good quality hour and half hour bell striking movement signed 'A*B' and numbered '110011', within an elaborate and good quality pagoda style brass case with white metal and gilt panels depicting Oriental figures in landscapes, the silvered Roman dial with similar centre depicting Oriental gentleman seated at a table, 15in. (38cm.) high.
A rare Reformed Gothic brass and lapis mantel clock designed by Bruce Talbert, probably made by Cox & Co or Hart, Son, Peard & Co, the triangular body, floral roundels set with red glass cabochons, the pointed finial with lapis knop, circular dial with Roman Numerals, 31cm. high Literature Charlotte Gere & Michael Whiteway 19th Century Design from Pugin to Mackintosh, page 118 for a comparable example illustrated. The John Scott Collection, Modern English Design From the 1860s and 1870s, Fine Art Society, 11th June-3rd July 2014, catalogue number 68 for a comparable example. Catalogue Notes Bruce Talbert (1838-1881) trained as an architect before becoming one of the leading exponents of the Reformed Gothic style. This clock, designed circa 1871, was illustrated in The Illustrated Catalogue of Gothic & other Artistic Domestic Furniture, Fittings, Decorations, Upholstery & Metal work, published by Cox & Sons in 1872.
