The dial has extensive noticeable restoration (filling and colouring) as well as chipping/losses to the enamel. The case generally is in good original condition retaining original finishes albeit with overall discolouration/tarnishing and light to moderate wear. The rear cover glass has been replaced and is now secured via tangs soldered to the bezel. Imposante Historismus-Prunkpendule mit Limoges-EmailmalereiVon eingerollten Volutenfüßen getragener, hochrechteckiger, architektonisch gegliederter Uhrenkorpus, gerahmt von vier kannelierten, abgeschrägten Eckpilastern mit reliefierten Volutenkapitellen. Überstehendes Profilgesims mit ansteigendem, sich konisch verjüngendem Ansatz. Als Bekrönung prächtige Vase mit seitlich hochgezogenen Blatthenkeln sowie aufgewölbtem Deckel mit Knospenknauf. Allseitig auf der Wandung kobaltblauer Fond mit reichem Dekor aus feinem Laubwerk, Blumenbukett und Putten mit Sanduhr als Symbol für die vergehende Zeit sowie weiblichen Personifkationen. Leicht erhabene Aufglasurmalerei in Weiß, sog. Limoges-Emailmalerei mit reicher Goldstaffage. Frontseitig verglastes Uhrengehäuse mit Porzellanzifferblatt mit goldenen römischen Zahlen. Halbstundenschlag. Platine bez. "Japy Freres & Cie/Gde Med. D'Honneur". Entw. Albert Georg Eras. Modell-Nr. (N) 135. Schwertermarke. H. 55 cm. Kontrastreich hebt sich die weiße Farbe von dem leuchtend kobaltblauen Fond ab. In mehreren dünnen Schichten aufgetragen, erhalten die Darstellungen so den leicht erhabenen, reliefartigen Charakter. Die Kombination aus weißem Farbauftrag und blauem Fond ist eine Nachahmung der berühmten Limosiner Emailarbeiten mit Maleremail, bei der Emailfarben, zumeist in Blau und Weiß, auf Kupfer aufgebracht und mit Gold versehen wurden. Im 19. Jh. wurde diese Gestaltungsart für Porzellan beliebt und bereits vor der Einführung in die Meissener Manufaktur durch Ernst August Leuteritz 1865 von Worcester und der Manufaktur Sèvres ausgeführt. Meissen präsentierte diese Technik erstmals auf einer Henkelvase mit der Darstellung „Triumphzug des Alexander den Großen“ nach dem dänischen Bildhauer Bertel Thorvaldsen, die auf der Pariser Weltausstellung 1867 vorgestellt wurde.Vgl.
