A French 19th century tortoiseshell, boulle and ormolu mounted mantel clock, with single train movement no. 3729, the balloon shaped case with ebonised back and sides and ormolu foliate, shell and winged figure mounts and feet, the white enamel 3 5/8in. dial with Roman numerals and Arabic outer minutes, 9¼in. (23.5cm.) high.* Condition: Wear to gilding on ormolu mounts. A few small losses to boulle decoration but good overall. Dial has some tiny chips around winding hole and retouched chip to edge at 5 o'clock. Rear door lacks catch. Small chips to ebony veneer and chip to top corner of case and rear door by hinge (all old). Clock winds and runs. With key.
