Lot 154

A late 19c French mantel clock in gilt carriage clock type case with folding carrying handle. The dial has a visible balance wheel and lever escapement and the bezel is set with cast glass stones. The movement rack strikes on a gong and the top of the case holds a combined compass and thermometer with Reaumur and Centigrade scales, it stands 10" tall overall.

Lot 155

A mid 19c English bracket clock by Matthews of Penrith with double fusee movement striking on a bell and having a 5" diameter silvered convex dial. It is contained in a Gothic style bronzed mantel case with castellated top and Gothic tracery to the sides and front. The base has cast scroll feet and the top is surmounted with three Gothic finials, 16" tall overall.

Lot 156

A late 19c French mantel clock in ormolu case decorated with porcelain plaques, the sides showing vases of flowers, the dial having a circle of flowers and centre front a vignette of a young lady all with Paris blue backgrounds. The case is decorated with casts of rams heads, vases of flowers and garlands and is surmounted by two putto, one with a bunch of grapes and the other playing a triangle. The movement strikes on a gong and the clock stands 13.5" tall overall.

Lot 158

A late 19c French marble mantel clock, the 6" diameter white enamelled dial fronting a rectangular movement striking on a gong. The black slate case has a rounded top, scrolled sides and stepped base and is mounted with variegated marble bands and inlays, 17" tall overall.

Lot 160

A late 19c English mantel clock consisting of a double fusee movement mounted in a rectangular glazed case which in turn sits on a panelled and stepped solid rectangular base which is grained and polished. The twin chain fusee movement is hour striking on a bell and has a 6" diameter white painted dial with a cut out centre. The pendulum swings within the solid base and the clock stands 16" tall.

Lot 161

A mid 19c French mantel clock , the ormolu case in the form of a Gothic church, the pointed arched body containing the 3.5" fretted dial with a traceried window below. This, in turn, stands on a stepped base cast with Gothic decoration and the case is surmounted by a pointed bell tower. The movement is rack striking on a bell, the case is lacking two statues flanking the centre window, it stands 22" tall overall.
