Lot 1091

An early Victorian rosewood cased mantel clock by Kleyser & Co., 66 High Street, Boro', London with silvered Gothic pattern dial, the 8ins diameter central dial with Roman numerals and strike/silent dial to arch, to the eight day three train and fusee movement striking on a gong and chiming on eight bells, contained in rosewood Gothic pattern case with shaped cresting, the front carved with leaf and Gothic arch ornament, conforming door flanked by quadruple cluster columns and on shaped plinth base, 27.5ins high (with slight damage on columns and crack to glass in front door)Condition -This is an imposing looking mantel clock, the dial is clean and well defined and the hands would appear to be original. The movement is of good quality and would appear in good untouched condition. It would appear in working order (although this is untested). It is complete with pendulum and small key to front and rear door but no winding key.The case itself is of good quality and appears in sound overall condition apart from it would appear that the case has been dropped at some stage and the front two pillars have been dislodged and rather poorly re-fitted. There is a crack running into the glass in the dial extending about 1.5ins.Shaped top of the case has a split to the veneer at both sides but otherwise it appears to be in good overall condition.
