Smith (Philip, 1928-). A musical box, wooden mantel clock case, with a musical box mechanism loosely contained inside, the clock face removed (but retained, set into some hardboard and included in the lot) and replaced with inset circle of green morocco, with coloured onlays and gilt stamped overall with figurative design, diameter of circle 14.5cm (5.75ins), overall size of clock 29 x 22 x 16cm (11.5 x 8.75 x 6.25ins) Similar to the binding Philip Smith created for 'Great Private Collections' edited by Douglas Cooper, illlustrated in 'Non-Duality, As It Is', 2006. He describes the imagery thus: "The design intends different possible states of man. The main gold stamped area represents the 'spiritual' Sun, with a central figure showing the changes necessary in an individual if he is to 'fulfil his potential'." (2)

A Zenith decorative reproduction French style bracket clock with glass panels to front and sides, gilt floral decoration on marbled dark red ground, the circular dial with Roman numerals set on plaques, and sunbursts to the hands, height 34cm, with matching bracket, and a modern brass mantel timepiece with textured finish, the circular white dial set with Roman numerals and inscribed "Imhof 8 Swiss", height 17cm (2).

A 19th century French gilt metal and alabaster figural mantel clock, the drum type eight day movement with white enamel dial painted with blue Roman numerals and inscribed "Richond Fabt Boult Montmatre No.17 A Paris", beneath a bird beside a seated female figure holding a sickle on an ornate foliate swag adorned scrolling base, length 56cm.

A late 18th/early 19th century longcase clock movement and brass square dial with circular chapter ring set with Roman and Arabic numerals, inscribed with maker's name, "Barnish, Rochdale" and "Weave Truth With Trust", and three brass longcase clock finials, also a Schatz Royal Mariner eight day brass mounted ships clock and a Ferranti chime mantel clock movement. CONDITION REPORT: Dial size 13.5 inches. Poor condition throughout.

A late 19th century French brass mantel clock, the urn finial above rectangular case set with circular dial housing an eight day Japy Freres & Co movement, Arabic numerals, twin carrying handles and scrolling supports, height 39cm. CONDITION REPORT: Holes to front of case where a plaque has been removed. Case parts are loose. Movement moves freely. General wear.
