The two front corners of the cornice each have a slight chip as does the rear end of the right moulding (about 2cm long). Other slight chips on the lower part. The surface of the case which is a type of dark Derbyshire limestone has a bloom.

A French gilt bronze mantel clock, by Charles Frodsham. Late 19th century, the circular white dial with enamelled floral swags, address 115 New Bond Street, London, and numbered 20425, the case with cast decoration, the movement, number 55640, striking on a gong, height 24.5cm.The movement was fully wound and when the pendulum was set moving, it has worked for at least half an hour. We can't be sure how accurate the time keeping is and would recommend a service or being looked at by a specialist. A French gilt-bronze mounted marble mantel clock, of Louis XVI style, early 20th century, the case surmounted with a seated child holding a branch above trophies including musical instruments and a plumed helmet on a breakfront marble base with foliate mounts on five toupie feet, the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, bearing marks Gavelle Le Jne AParis, the twin train movement striking on a bell, the backplate with indistinct marks, with pendulum, 27cm high, 19cm wide, 10cm deep Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order or time keeping of any timepiece. Condition Report: Case - with some rubbing to gilt and general surface scratches to bronze. Minor chips and nibbles to edges and corners of marble base. The hinge of the reverse door is loose but attached. Tarnishing to reverse door. The tip of the branch held by the boy to surmount is missing. There are minor nibbles to edges of glass panel below the dial. Dial - Possibly associated, the winding holes are slightly out of alignment and there are nibbles to edges. Minor surface scratches, particularly around winding holes. Minor spot between 1 and 2. Minor rubbing to numerals. Movement - Some tarnishing and scratches to backplate. The two cachets have been erased so marks are no longer legible. Tarnishing to bell. The rod of the hammer is slightly bent so will not strike the bell properly.

Bedeutende französische Kaminuhr "Jason mit dem Goldenen Vlies"Höhe: 63 cm. Breite: 40 cm.Tiefe: 20 cm.Nach Entwurf von Pierre-Victor Ledure (1783 - 1870).Bronze, bruniert und feuervergoldet, auf Marmorsockel. Der figürliche Aufbau überwiegt in der Gesamtansicht gegenüber der eingebauten Uhr, sodass hier eher von einem hochrangigen plastischen Bildwerk gesprochen werden muss, in das eine Uhr eingefügt ist. Dargestellt ist ein Thema der griechischen Mythologie. Jason will seinen Platz auf dem Thron einnehmen, muss jedoch zuerst das Goldene Vlies - eine gelbes Widderfell - aus dem von einem Drachen bewachten Hain holen. Der Entwerfer Pierre-Victor Ledure lernte bei dem berühmten Bronzier André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814). Beispiele seiner Arbeiten befinden sich in bedeutenden Sammlungen, wie etwa im Museo de Reloges in Jerez de la Frontera, im Königspalast Madrid, im Royal Pavilion in Brighton oder in der britischen Botschaft in Paris. Figur, Drache und Uhr vergoldet, auf grünem Marmorsockel. Auf dem Ziffernblatt mit römischen Stunden ein Relief: „Jason und Medea”. 14-Tagewerk, Pendel an Fadenaufhängung, Schlossscheibenschlagwerk für Halb- und Stundenschlag auf Glocke.
