A mid 19th century eight day French ormolu mantel clock with fine chased and burnished scroll work. The case surmounted with a figure of lady in period costume playing a harp, on scroll feet, height 60cm. The movement is a round plated French rack striking type, playing on a single cast bell. The dial of white enamel has blue and gold edged Roman numerals and is marked "Jean le Gallais - Jersey".

A French porcelain striking mantel clock, signed Potonie, Paris, no.490, circa 1880, figural and floral decorated case, 34cm high 17.12.13, Case with some losses, crack marks and gilding rubbed in parts, some restoration to porcelain in parts, one of the figures heads have been repaired re-glued and the finger is chipped and some other restoration in parts, dial slightly faded to the minute track, movement not working at present.

No stamp marks, country of manufacture unknown.

There is a pendulum present. There is no key. There is a bell at the back of the clock.

Ceramic flowers, Foliage and decoration is of a very thin, light weight and flexible metal. Tarnish. Base is of wood and is covered with fabric/leather which is very deteriorated. Old woodworm holes. Wood dowel feet. Very dirty and would benefit from a clean. Dial with several cracks. There is a key. There is no pendulum. There is a bell at the back of the clock.
