A rare Junghans Symphonion disc musical mantel clock, circa 1890, the two-train balance wheel lever movement with rectangular cream Roman numeral dial with Junghans star trademark to centre and line decoration to lower portion within gilt metal cavetto moulded bezel, the stained beech case with brass carrying handle to the hinged gadroon moulded caddy top enclosing symphonion disc music mechanism activated on the hour or played at will, over four glasses with spiral brass baton mounted angles and cavetto moulded base with bun feet, 31cm high, with four spare 4.5 inch discs. An almost identical clock was offered at Sotheby's Olympia 'Fine Clocks, Watches, Barometers & Mechanical Music' on 16th December 2003.
