A 19th Century French gilt metal cased mantel clock in the Louis XVI taste, the domed top with egg and dart and laurel wreath decoration on acanthus column supports enclosing a hand-painted porcelain panel depicting a shepherd with dog by stream, the side panels decorated with floral ribbon tied wreaths on a scrolling acanthus decorated plinth base to scrolling acanthus decorated feet, the eight day movement stamped No. 5206, with circular gilt dial and Roman numerals, 40.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Please note that we can make no guarantees as to whether movement is complete nor whether in working order. A small dent, areas of pitting, rubbing and some surface scratching all over gilt metal case. Porcelain plaque is dirty and there is a sticky mark to back of the case. Back right hand foot appears to have been off and repinned wrongly. Enamel to the dial numbers is worn. General wear conducive with age and use.
