A 19th century French Empire style ormolu mantel clock, modelled with a classical musician standing beside an urn, the case decorated with angels and foliate scrolls, unsigned eight day silk suspension movement, height 19.25in.CONDITION: Overall in somewhat neglected dirty condition, ormolu does have a good deep rich tone but as said is very dirty throughout with scattered spotting and light scuff marks, the main figure once had an instrument in his hands that is no longer present, top of urn may have had more to the finial, dial a little faded, movement looks to be complete but not tested, comes with a fine pendulum, associated key, the fixing for the bell at the back is loose.
A 19th century Louis XVI style ormolu and Sevres style porcelain clock garniture, the mantel clock of architectural form with urn surmount and porcelain panels painted with Cupid, lovers and a trophy, signed L. Levy, S. Marti eight day countwheel movement, height 14.5in. with a pair of matching five light candelabra, height 16.5in.CONDITION: Overall looks to be in honest untouched condition, a little dusty with a slightly matted finish to the ormolu, some scattered dirt spots mainly to the upwards facing surfaces, porcelain all looks good with original gilding intact, slight rubbing beneath the naming on the dial, movement intact, comes with pendulum and old key but not tested for timekeeping, candelabra may once have had sconces and are slightly wobbly at the joints but otherwise look good.
Ch. Gaultier, Bordeaux. A late 19th / early 20th century French bronze and ormolu mantel clock, modelled with Cupid holding a cockerel, with floral painted enamel dial, unsigned eight day movement, on a Sienna marble plinth and ormolu toupie feet, height 15.75in. width 10.25in. depth 6in.CONDITION: Overall in somewhat neglected condition, bronze of the cherub is a good rich chocolate brown but has some green verdigris where the left leg meets the ormolu case, cockerel has a dull ormolu finish, main body of the clock ranges from mid gilt to dark tone with pronounced green oxidisation or verdigris showing on the left side, dial perhaps a little dirty but otherwise looks good, signed CH. Gaultier, Bordeaux, movement looks complete but lacks pendulum and key, very minor fritting around the edges of the marble base, feet a little dull in finish, overall in need some restoration but a very high quality clock.
A 19th century French bronze mantel clock, modelled as Cronos holding an ormolu scythe, the drum movement with serpent bezel and silvered Roman dial, on a Sienna marble plinth, height 17.5in.CONDITION: Overall in honest untouched condition, main figure has a dark brown to blackish patination with some rubbing on the raised extremities, scythe may well be a later replacement but looks appropriate, dial in good clean condition, movement not tested for timekeeping. Plinth possibly later but in good order.
A 19th Century French Empire style ormolu mantel clock, modelled with a figure of Odysseus standing beside a plinth with various other classical motifs, dial signed Foisse à Bologne, unsigned eight day countwheel movement, height 15in.CONDITION: Overall rather dusty but the ormolu in the main with a good gilt finish just some very light rubbing to the extremities, central eagle and sheet music mount is loose and not fixed in place, left hand trophy mount is a little loose, dial very dirty with hairline crack at 10 o'clock and chipping to the left hand winding hole, hands look original, movement complete and with a delicate pendulum but not tested for timekeeping, minor spotting around the lower part of the case, no back door.
Dwerryhouse & Carter of London. A Regency brass inset mahogany mantel clock, with architectural case and painted Roman dial, unsigned twin fusee movement, height 19.5in.CONDITION: Overall a little dusty but otherwise looks to be honest and untouched, mid to light brown mahogany tone, darker at the top and with some ebonised details, top finial slightly bent out of place, two slim cracks running in to each side of the dial through the main case, dial looks a little rubbed, hands probably original, two sections of brass stringing missing from the lower part of the front of the case, side handles and pierced brass grills with a dull bronze finish, silk lining to side panels very tired, key missing for the lock that holds the bezel in position but still fits tightly, no key for the back door which has very minor losses around the edges, movement looks to be in good condition, complete but not tested for timekeeping, comes with an adjustable pendulum but no keys.
An unusual French Art Nouveau walnut mantel clock, carved in relief with a wood nymph dancing amongst mistletoe, eight day Japy Freres movement, width 9in. height 22.75in.CONDITION: Overall in very good condition, case in a high state of polish, some slight rubbing to the gilding of the dial, movement going but not tested for timekeeping.
