Maple & Co, Paris, A French Victorian mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half hours on a gong with the backplate stamped for the retailer 'Maple & Co, Paris', the silvered dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and a filigree centre, the rectangular brass case having turned columns to the front, balustrade to the top and a raised decorative panel to the front, height 30cm. *Maple & Co. are recorded as having a workshop in Paris from circa 1880 until 1905 supplying their retail premises in London.
