Two George II silver Rat Tail pattern tablespoons, London 1734 and 1745, a George III silver Rat Tail pattern tablespoon, London 1766, a pair of George IV silver sugar tongs with engraved foliate decoration, London 1822, a Victorian silver sifter spoon with pierced and engraved decoration, London 1878, a set of six Victorian silver teaspoons and matching sugar tongs, Sheffield 1880 and 1882 by Henry Wilkinson & Co, cased, a set of six silver teaspoons, a silver mustard and salt spoon, and a set of silver handled butter knives, cased, together with a small collection of plated cutlery.
A George III brass and mahogany cased folding coin balance by A. Wilkinson, Kirkby, with applied paper labels, together with an oxidized brass circular box and cover, decorated with a titled relief bust of `England`s Admiral Nelson Duke of Bronte`, a diminutive book Loss of the Mary Rose at Spithead, bound in the wood of the wreck, and two other diminutive books (some faults).
A pair of Indian colonial silver pepperettes by Hamilton & Co., Calcutta (`A`, elephant, `H&Co`), circa 1830, the covers with domed centres, the cylindrical bodies with gadrooned borders and engraved `Pepper` and `Kyan`, on circular pedestal bases, engraved with a crest, 10cm (4in) high, 208g (6.7 oz). The crest of CORBREAKE and of WHITEHEAD. See Wilkinson, Wynard R. T. Indian Colonial Silver: European Silversmiths in India (1790-1860) And Their Marks London 1973, p. 59 for a similar pair of pedestal casters with marks illustrated of circa 1830. The author also notes that these marks were used by Hamilton`s from 1815 right through to 1970.
