Also etched with the initials C.L.H.B.  Cutler's details of Wilkinson to the forte and  blade number 53921 (1914). The hilt of the regimental pattern and complete with brown leather field service scabbard. Overall GC. Believed possibly carried by Major C.L.Blundell-Hollins-Blundell Described by one of his men in the front line 1915, My Capt. WW2 Important "Lord Lovat" 4 Commando Fighting Knife. An extremely rare example.  Ron Flook in his excellent book "British and Commonwealth Military Knives" states he believes only 5 examples are known.  6 inch, narrow spear point, double edged blade. Cutler's device of "Wilkinson Sword & Co London" to the forte. The all alloy hilt retains most of its original blackened finish to the crossguard and now only traces to the grip. ... Accompanied by a dark brown, hand stitched leather scabbard, with leather and open pattern press stud retaining strap. Knife does not fully fit in scabbard. Knife remains in good clean condition. This pattern of fighting knife is commonly referred to as probably the rarest of the WW2 British fighting knives. Purchased by Lord Lovat in small numbers from Wilkinson and presented to his Officer?s of 4 Commando as a Christmas gift. The logo as stated in "British and Commonwealth Military Knives" was confirmed by Wilkinson, the logo is from their etching plate used in the 1930's and early 1940's, which would confirm the Lord Lovat story. 2nd Bn Northumberland Fusiliers 1856 Pattern Pioneers Short Sword. A good example of the pattern, by Wilkinson of London. The single edged flat sided blade with sharpened back edge point and rear sawback edge. The forte dated 2/00 and cutler?s stamp details. Brass stirrup shape guard with down swept quillon, the brass ribbed slab grips secured by four steel rivets. 2nd East Kent Regiment British 1856 Pattern Pioneer's Sword 22 1/2 inch, single edged blade with back edge sharpened point.  Rear sawback edge.  Forte marked "Wilkinson. London" dated 8/95.  Various Ordnance stamps.  Brass stirrup knuckle bow with downturn quillon.  Top of quillon stamped "2.E.K".  Ribbed brass slab grips secured by four steel rivets.  Contained in its brass mounted leather scabbard.  Throat stamped "11/95. Queens Own Cameron Highlanders 1913 Officer's Sword By Wilkinson London An example of a Levee pattern sword with a 2 cm wide blade. This with etched decoration of a crowned GVR cypher, the Regimental title and initials J.W.F.McL. The forte with the cutler's details and the back of the blade with the number 44321 (1913). The hilt with a three bar open guard, rounded chequered pommel and shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Complete with scabbard. Attributed to Captain J.W.F. McLachlan OBE who was commissioned into the Regiment in September 1913. He landed in France with the 1st Bn on the 14th August 1914 and was later promoted to a Captain on the Staff.
