3rd Bn North Lancashire Regiment 1856 Pattern Pioneers Short Sword.A good example, the single edged flat sided blade with sharpened back edge point and rear sawback edge. The forte dated “11/00 and cutler’s details of Wilkinson” with various Ordnance stamps. Brass stirrup shape guard with down swept quillon, this with regimental issue stamps “6.02 M 3.N.L. 6”. The brass ribbed slab grips secured by four steel rivets. Housed in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Good clean condition.
1st Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers ‘Hooked Quillon’ 1907 pattern bayonet and early scabbard.A good and rare example, this hooked quillon bayonet was made by Wilkinson July 1909. The forte of the blade with various issue stamps. The pommel with stamps indicating 1st Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Housed in early pattern scabbard without chape. Good matching condition pair.
WW2 2nd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Parkerised Commando fighting knife with logo.A good used and scarce example. The hilt with Parkerised finished to the chequered grip. Double edged spear point blade, the ricasso with etched panel Wilkinson Sword Ltd. London, the reverse side the F-S Fighting Knife. Oval cross guard. Housed in dark brown leather scabbard with Parkerised square chape, elasticised strap has been replaced with a leather strap during is working life leather tangs removed. The overall condition is good clean condition, blade length 17 cm
WW2 1st pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Commando fighting knife.An good and rare carried example. The hilt with nickel grip of chequered design. Double edged spear point blade, the ricasso with etched panel Wilkinson Sword Ltd. London, the reverse side the F-S Fighting Knife. Recurved cross guard. Housed in an early pattern dark brown leather scabbard with nickel rounded chape and strap and stud retainer. This scabbard has had its leather tangs removed during its working life. The reverse of the scabbard impressed with the numbers “6014542”. Good clean condition, blade length 17 cmProvenance. Vendor states issued to Royal Marine James, one of the first men to join ‘A’, later 40 Commando, who carried it on the Dieppe Raid. It than passed to his son, Pat James, doing National Service in ‘A’ Company, 40 Commando. Pat James carried it through Suez. He later joined 6 SBS, spent sometime helping to train the newly formed US SEALS and later worked in an intelligence role. Pat James bequeathed the knife to the vendor. The regimental number would indicate a member of the Essex Regiment.

1947 Southern Railway quad-royal POSTER 'The new TS Falaise - Southampton, St Malo & Channel Island Services' from an oil painting by Norman Wilkinson (1878-1971). The 'Falaise' re-opened the passenger service from Southampton to St Malo after the Second World War. It carried 1527 passengers and 31 cars. Depicts the ship at sea with a background of the Channel Islands. Two short inward tears on the l/h side and minor edge scuffs in places but otherwise in very good condition. Previously folded. A rarely-seen poster. [1]
