A well-engineered model of a LBSC 'P V Baker' 0-6-0 side tank tender locomotive, built by Mr Bob Wilkinson of Stogursey Somerset. The silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including pressure gauge, water sight-glass, regulator, direction control lever, clack, safety valves and cab operated cylinder drain cocks, the chassis with twin outside cylinders, piston valves, Bakers valve gear, fluted motion and fitted steam whistle. A six wheel tender with fitted hand operated water feed pump. The model finished in 'Thomas the Tank' blue and black livery. Total length 110cm. Cab width 18cm. The model comes together with a metal carrying cradle. * This model was exhibited at The Taunton Model Engineers Golden Jubilee Exhibition 1996. This locomotive is based on the LBSC design known as 'P V Baker'. The name relates to the fact that the locomotive has piston type valves and uses Baker valve gear. A well-engineered 5 inch gauge model of a LNER K4 Class 2-6-0 tender locomotive Lord of the Isles , built by Mr Bob Wilkinson of Somerset. The silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including pressure gauge, water sight-glass, regulator, fire box door, drip oilers, direction control lever and safety valves. The chassis with twin outside cylinders, fluted motion, Walschaerts valve gear, two water injectors and cylinder drain cocks. The model finished in traditional green and black lined livery with fitted steps and hand rails. The six wheel tender with fitted brakes. An exhibition quality built 5 inch gauge model of a Great Western Railway 4-4-0 'Bulldog' tender locomotive No 3433, built by Mr Bob Wilkinson of Somerset. The silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including pressure gauge, water sight-glass, drains, regulator with lubrication linkage, direction control and drip oilers. Cab with simulated plank flooring, driver s seats and cab controlled cylinder drain cock operation. The chassis with twin outside cylinders having Stephenson s valve gear. The six wheel tender with fitted brakes, tool boxes, vents, axle boxes and suspension. The model finished in Great Western Railway green and black livery with fitted steps and hand rails, detailed rivet-work, spring suspension, vacuum hoses and lamp irons. Total length 153cm. A part built model of a four cylinder triple marine ships engine, built to its present state by Mr Bob Wilkinson of Stogursey Somerset. The model built from cast bronze castings. All parts completed are illustrated in the catalogue photograph. Pistons not present. Sole plate length 43cm. Height to top of cylinders 31cm.
A collection of three Victorian novelty silver owl pepper pots, one by George John Richards & Edward Charles Brown, London 1859, modelled in a standing position, yellow glass eyes, textured feathers, plus another one by the same maker, London 1857, with red glass eyes, and one by Henry Wilkinson and Co, Sheffield, with red eyes, heights 8cm, 6.8cm and 6.5cm, approx. weight 4.5oz. A late-19th / early-20th century Indian silver covered jug, maker's mark of VK, Cutch of Bombay, circa 1900, tapering oval form, chased with animals and foliate scroll decoration on a matted background, stylised snake scroll handle, the hinged cover with an elephant finial, height 10.5cm, approx. weight 8.4oz. An Indian silver covered bowl, Bombay, circa 1910, circular form, chased with a hunting scene above part-fluted decoration, the pull-off cover with chased decoration and with an elephant finial, on a raised circular foot, height 19cm, approx. weight 26.5oz. For a similar example see, Wilkinson, W., Indian Silver 1858-1947, privately published, 1999, page 25, illustration 25.
1827 Pattern Officers Sword of the Staffordshire Rifles, regulation Wilkinson blade No. 10435 etched with crowned VR cipher, crowned regimental title with Staffordshire knot, strung bugle, owner’s name in ribbon “CAPTAIN BASS”, and profuse scrolling foliage, regulation steel guard, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in an associated leather covered scabbard with large steel chape. Blade 82cms. Good condition, cleaned pitting to hilt, some age wear overall.
Scarce 1827 Pattern Officers Sword of the Chatsworth Rifles, Wilkinson blade No 6623 (for 1854) etched with the crowned VR cypher, Chatsworth Rifles, and regimental devices within scrolling foliage together with the owner's crest, motto and initials F.W.A. The steel hilt of regulation pattern, the grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire, in its steel scabbard. Blade 81.5cms. Good condition, some age wear overall and requires cleaning. Ferdinand William Arkwright, Chatsworth Rifles (2nd Derby Militia), late 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards, Capt 23.5.1855, Senior Capt by 1867. Previously Ensign 9.8.1833 in the 47th (Lancs) Regt, Lieut 15.12.1837 4th R.I.D.G., Capt 14.7.1843.
1845 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson, No. 5877, flat (un-fullered) blade sharpened for field service and etched with crowned VR cipher and foliage, regulation brass hilt with folding side guard, wire bound fish skin covered grip, in a steel scabbard. Blade 86.5cms. Good condition.
British 1895 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson Sword, pierced guard with VR cipher to the centre, fish skin grip retaining the wire binding. Housed in its steel scabbard. Sword is fitted with an early 1845 pattern blade which is etched with crowned VR, foliage and owners initials “e p w”. Blade has Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London mark to the base and the spine is numbered 24163. Scabbard shows heavy pitting and wear but blade remains in generally good condition.
WWI 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London No 52935 (made 1914-1917) etched and mirror polished with the crowned Royal Arms, GVR cypher and laurel wreath amidst scrolling foliage and retaining nearly all original polish, regulation steel guard with traces of plating, chequered gripstrap, grip covered with fish skin and bound with twisted silver wire, in its steel dress scabbard. Blade 82.5cms. Good condition.
British George V 1897 Pattern Devonshire Regiment Officers Sword, standard pattern example with George V monogram to the pierced guard, wire bound fish skin grip, housed in its leather field service scabbard. Blade etched with regimental badge of the Devonshire regiment, foliage, cipher of George V and initials “F.W.B”. Blade with Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the base and numbered to the spine 61240. Blade shows heavy wear and pitting.
George V Highland Light Infantry Officers Broadsword by Wilkinson Sword, steel cruciform cross guard with fish skin covered grip and steeped pommel. Housed in its leather field service scabbard. Double edged blade with central fuller and etched with thistles, George V cipher and regimental insignia of the Highland Light Infantry. Sword has engraved details of the original owner “P H BERTRAM 16TH H.L.I”. Sword has Henry Wilkinson retailers details to the base and the spine is numbered 48074. Some wear to the leather of the scabbard and some staining to the blade but otherwise a good example.
WW1 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London No 52393 (manufactured 1914-1917) etched with the crowned Royal Arms and GVR cypher amidst scrolling foliage, plated guard and chequered grip strap of regulation pattern, fish skin covered grip bound with twisted silver wire, in its field service leather scabbard. Blade 82.5cms. Good condition.
British George VI 1897 Pattern Officers Dress Sword by Wilkinson, standard pattern example with George VI monogram to the pierced guard, leather covered grip and housed in its leather covered field service scabbard. Blade etched with foliage and ciphers. Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the base of the blade and the spine is numbered 67093. Blade heavily worn. The Wilkinson Sword records show that this sword was completed by Wilkinson Sword on 26th August 1938 and sold to A S Cundy-Cooper Inniskilling Fusiliers.
Scarce 6th Dragoon Guards Officers Undress Sword for 1901-1912, Wilkinson blade and solid hilt No. 45943, etched with maker’s device and sharpened for field service, regulation plated hilt, wire bound chequered composition grip, in its leather scabbard. Blade 88.5cms. Good condition, minor wear overall.
British 1888 Lee Metford Mk III Bayonet, having wood grips with brass securing rivets. Pommel stamped “802” and with oil hole. Housed in early type leather and steel mounted scabbard. Double edged blade with Wilkinson makers mark. Blade measures 30cms and overall measures 45cms. Good untouched example.
WW2 British 1st Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife by Wilkinson Sword, excellent example of the nickel silver 1st pattern commando knife with “S” shaped guard and cross hatched grip with brass nut fitting to the top. Double edged stiletto type blade with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London etched to the base of the blade to one side and The FS Fighting Knife to the base of the other side. Housed in its original brown leather scabbard with nickel silver lower chape. Four leather tabs still present to the scabbard. Repaired securing tab to the top of the scabbard. Overall a excellent example.
WW2 British 2nd Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife by Wilkinson Sword, very good untouched example with blackened brass plain oval cross guard, cross hatched grip with brass nut fitting to the top. Double edged stiletto type blade with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London etched to the base of the blade and The F.S Fighting Knife etched to the base of the opposite side of the blade. Housed in the original leather scabbard with blackened brass lower chape. Missing the leather tabs from the lower part of the scabbard and elasticated strap missing from the top section of the scabbard. Some light surface staining to the tip of the blade but generally a very good example.

SPEEDWAY SCRAPBOOK 1931 Exercise book size hard back Speedway scrapbook circa 1931. The third year of organised speedway. The book is crammed full of cuttings of individual riders of the time, 7" x 5" supplement pictures of riders from, famous League riders and includes Rickman, Grosskreutz, Francis Case, team picture of Stamford Bridge 1929, Cut outs include many early pictures of riders such as Wally Phillips, Frank Arthur, Gus Kuhn, Bluey Wilkinson etc plus match action cuttings at Stamford bridge and v Australia 1932 at Wembley. Approximately 180 individual cut outs are identified and includes most if not all of the early riders. Excellent collection of the early Speedway years and a unique item. Viewing strongly recommended for enthusiasts to note the quality of this collection. Generally good
