Good Irish violin by and labelled Made by Thos. Perry & Wm. Wilkinson, Musical Instrument Makers, no. 6 Anglesea Street, no. 4296, Dublin, 1815, also branded Perry, Dublin below the button and stamped no. 4296 on the button, the two piece back of faint medium curl with similar wood to the sides, the head of plainish wood, the table of a medium/fine width grain and the varnish of a reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 13 15/16", 35.40cm
An interesting Wilkinson P1907 presentation bayonet, of standard pattern, with maker’s and ordnance inspector’s stamps at forte, the blade etched on one side “Presented to J. Clayton by the Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd on the completion of 2,000,000 bayonets, 1915-1918” within scrolled fenestrated panels, in its leather scabbard with khaki webbing frog. Very Good Condition Plate 64.
A good Elizabeth II diplomat’s sword, slender ovoid section blade, 32½” with “Wilkinson, Sword, London”logo at forte and etched with crowned ERII cypher in scrolled floral and foliate panels, gilt hilt with studded borders to turn down shell guard, crossguard with turn down finials, knucklebow, flattened urn pommel and square section grip, gilt knot and bullion tassel, in its gilt mounted leather scabbard with buff leather frog and white linen shoulder strap, in chamois lined leatherette case. Very Good Condition, a crisp example. Plate 64
An Elizabeth II Royal Air Force officer’s dress sword, straight fullered blade 32½”, by Wilkinson Sword Ltd, no 94450 on backstrap, etched on one side with crowned Royal Arms and on the other with RAF crowned wings, all its foliate and blank scroll panels, gilt brass hilt with half basket guard with turn over inner edge, pierced and panelled incorporating crowned ERII cypher and crowned wings on raised oval, eagle’s head pommel, plain backstrap, wirebound white sharkskin grip, in its black polished leather scabbard with gilt locket, middle band and chape, with 2 rings, blue and gilt dress knot. WW2 1st Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife, being a nickel silver example with 1st type S shaped guard. Cross hatched grip with brass nut fitting to the top. Doubled edged stiletto blade with remains of Wilkinson Sword etched makers mark and The FS Fighting Knife etched to the other. Blade has been well used and has evidence of sharpening and tipped. Housed in the original leather scabbard with nickel silver bottom chape. Scabbard is missing its top section. Good used example.
