A VICTORIAN SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS FIELD OFFICER'S SWORD, 87.5cm blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 15673 for 1868, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, 78th HIGHLANDERS ROSS SHIRE BUFFS, regimental motifs and battle honours and owner's crest and initials and a maker's panel, regulation pierced steel hilt, red faced liner, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its steel scabbard, complete with knot, together with an associated painting of an officer of the 78th, Thompson in full dress uniform. F. Sutton, 1st Life Guards, 24th November 1910. The crest and motto are of the Sutton family of Scawby Hall, Lincolnshire.
