Astley, 21st Baron Hastings, regulation blade 89cms by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, No.39199 (=1901CE) etched with crowned EVIIR cypher, the Royal Arms, regimental badge, owner’s crest and initials D.A., fitted with PATENT SOLID HILT, pierced iron guard, chequered grip strap and composition grips, in its iron scabbard with twin suspension rings. The sword of Hon. A. E. D. Astley, 21st Baron Hastings. Born November 24th 1882, he was commissioned in the 7th Hussars 1902-1906. Captain 1910 in King's Own Royal Regiment of Norfolk Yeomanry. He saw service in France and Belgium, and was twice mentioned in dispatches. By 1918 he had attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
