Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife with 17cm double edged blade etched 'Wilkinson Sword Made in England' and chromed ring pattern grip, in steel tipped brown leather sheath, overall length 29cm. The vendor was a sergeant in the Royal Marines and was charged with having 20 of the knives chrome plated for presentation purposes.

Bullock, Ellesmere', with foliate cast spandrels, chapter ring and calendar aperture arc, later engraved above the XII 'WILKINSON' and below the VI 'COCKSHUT', the twin train movement with anchor escapement and external countwheel strike on a bell.181cm. high

A Victorian silver four-cup egg cruet by Henry Wilkinson & Co., Sheffield, 1853, quatrefoil form with basket-work sides and fixed conforming handle, on four ball feet, four detachable egg cups with pierced diaperwork sides and gilt interiors; together with four associated German figural-end spoons with English import marks for 1890 and 1891, 12 cm. high, 17 cm. wide, wt. 513 gm.Overall good condition, one foot might need slight adjustment to ensure it sits flush with a flat surface.

The following sixteen lots are a significant single owner collection of late XIX to mid XX Century picture postcards chronicling the history of many of the worlds naval and shipping lines and includes early chromo-lithographic, Real Photo and advertorial cards, many of the postcards are of the more obscure lines and are worthy of closer inspection. Over Three Hundred Postcards, fastidiously alphabetically arranged A - B by shipping companies, liners, ferries and freighters, including Aberdeen Line, Adelaide Steamship Co., Adria Co., Allan Line, America Line, Atlantic Transport, Barron S.N. Co., Bessemer, Bibby Line, Blue Funnel Line including Norman Wilkinson card, Blue Star and Booth Line, many well known artists and all carefully annotated.
ARR NORMAN WILKINSON (BRITISH, 1878-1971), R.M.S. 'Mauretania' Rafted Up To A Transport, Off The Coast Of Gallipoli, 1915, Signed 'Norman Wilkinson' (lower left), Watercolour, 21 x 14in. (53.5 x 35.5cm.), Mauretania was used as a troop ship during WWI. Norman Wilkinson was located at the Dardenelles for the duration of the campaign. It is thought this is one of a set of watercolours considered for his book The Dardenelles, Colour Sketches in Gallipoli 1916.

Five Art Pottery vases, to include a red soufflé glazed Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian vase, shape number 2096, a pair of Minton Hollins Astra ware vases, a Clews Chameleon ware vase and a Wilkinson Oriflamme vase, (5) the tallest vase measures 31cm high Condition report: The Royal Lancastrian vase has a bruise and associated crack to the rim as well as a chip to the footrim. There is overall crazing to all pieces but no restorations or damages except that mentioned above.

Elizabeth II British Royal Artillery Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize Presentation Sword by Wilkinson, 1821 pattern officers dress sword with standard pattern guard, top pommel and back strap. Original grip retaining wire binding. Finely etched blade with coat of arms of Elizabeth II and Royal Artillery cannon badge, panel etched with “AMBROSE PRATT MEMORIAL PRIZE 2ND LT R P HARRISON RA”. Blade with Wilkinson Sword trade mark and spine numbered 96628. Housed in the original leather covered scabbard and complete with a leather storage bag. Some staining to the blade but otherwise very good condition. The Ambrose Pratt Memorial Prize was awarded to young officers who have shown the greatest improvement in all-round officer qualities on the course for newly commissioned Artillery officers at the School of Artillery, but excluding holders of the Tombs, Benson and Earl Roberts memorial prize.
Good 1895 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson, No.24046, etched with crowned VR, foliage and owners initials HJMK, crest and motto AVISE LA FIN, regulation pierced steel guard with VR cipher, wire bound fish skin covered grip [a little missing], in its steel dress scabbard. Blade 32.75”. Good condition, blade retains most original polish, scabbard cleaned. Herbert J Whiteside McKenzie Kennedy of the Norfolk Rgt. From the Durnford-Kennedy family, Ireland. Born 1858. British 1897 Pattern Sword for the Zambia Police Force made by Wilkinson, standard 1897 type sword with insignia of the Zambia Police force to the centre. Original grip retaining wire binding. Mint condition blade etched with foliage and insignia of the Zambia Police force. Wilkinson Sword trade mark to the base and numbered to the spine 92035. Blade measures 82cms in length. Housed in the original black leather covered scabbard and complete with storage bag, Sword accompanied by three photographs, including one of the original owner Acting Superintendent W C Sampson Zambia Police in uniform. Interesting sword for any Police of Wilkinson sword collector.
British Martini Henry 1887 Pattern MK I Sword Bayonet, complete with its original black leather chequered grips, sabre blade with fullers on both sides. WD acceptance stamps and crowned VR /87. Housed in its original leather scabbard with steel top mount (lower section of scabbard missing). Accompanied by a Mk I Lee-Metford bayonet by Wilkinson, missing its scabbard. WW2 Fairbairn Sykes 2nd Pattern Commando Knife by Wilkinson Sword, good used example of an early 2nd pattern Fairbairn Sykes commando knife with one piece brass chequered handle, un-marked downturned oval cross guard, stiletto type double edged blade measuring 16 ½cms in length. Blade is etched with “THE FS FIGHTING KNIFE” to one side and the other etched with Wilkinson Sword London trademark. Blade shows some wear and staining. Housed in its original brown leather scabbard with blackened brass lower chape, leather scabbard tabs have been removed, backing section remains with brown cloth strap.
