A polished darkwood police truncheon, with strap, and another hardwood, both 15½”; a small chromium plated surgeon’s kit, on stand which fits into a heavy cylindrical case, 7½”, with sealed screw on lid, evidently waterproof, by A Brown Leicester; a KC RAC member’s badge and an RAC Associates radiator cap badge (plating bubbled); a green glass stoppered bottle for J Wilkinson, Gateshead and 2 other bottles; sundry other items. An ERII officer’s sword of the Grenadier Guards, straight blade 32½” by Wilkinson, no 72170 (for 1953) on backstrap, etched with crowned ERII cypher, crowned grenade and battle honour scrolls, regulation hilt incorporating grenade with ERII on the ball, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, with half leather and gilt acorn knot, in its scabbard with 2 rings. Victorian Staff SergeantÕs Sword straight single edged fullered blade by Wilkinson Sword Co. Brass Gothic hilt with VR cypher cartouche. Wire bound shagreen grip. Various stamped markings on blade, including date 2.Õ93 and on the guard including RAMC (deleted) and 2WSR. Contained in brown leather scabbard. Blade pitted and discoloured and approx 1/2Ó of point missing. Scabbard with stitching faults and defective shoe. Frog tab missing.
