A SCARCE EAST INDIA COMPANY 1845 PATTERN 66TH BENGAL NATIVE INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY WILKINSON, 82cm slightly curved blade decorated with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, EIC lion, maker's panel and 66th BENGAL NATIVE INFANTRY within a garter and foliate panel, owner's initials HH centered, regulation copper gilt hilt incorporating a crowned VR cypher, folding sideguard, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its black painted steel scabbard. Some patination towards the tip and scabbard fractured otherwise nice clear regimental etched details.
OF INDIAN MUTINY INTEREST AN 1845 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD TO MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM HENRY KERR, 83cm slightly curved blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 8590 for 1857, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cyphers and a maker's panel, regulation copper gilt Gothic hilt incorporating a crowned VR cypher and folding side guard, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its brass scabbard. Complete with an extensive folder of research on the service of Major General William Kerr giving particular emphasis to the Indian Mutiny and his actions at Amorah, Nuggur, Bhansee, Hurryah etc which earned him an MID. Previously this sword resided in the collection of the late Brigadier Richard Holmes CBE, TD, VR, JP.

AN 1897 PATTERN NCO'S SWORD AND MEDAL GROUPING, 82cm blade by WILKINSON and with various Ordnance stamps at the forte, regulation pierced and plated steel hilt incorporating a crowned EVIIR cypher, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its steel mounted field service scabbard, complete with knot and miniature medals: QSA, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Defence Medal and 39-45 Medal, the BWM with MID. This grouping pertains to Major George Allan Royal Marines, sold with a page of notes detailing his service from Aged 17 as a Private in 1897 to a Major during the Second World War.
