G Leonce', a pair of painted pottery plaques, circa 1870, each of the ovals painted with flowers, scratch inscribed signatures, 47 x 37 cm (18.5 x 14.5 in) within ebonised frames (2) Vega Wilkinson in her 'Dictionary of Ceramic Artists' suggests that Georges Leonce was a painter of flowers on ceramics but could be the same person as Gustav Leonce who was better known for ceramic designs.
A Victorian British Infantry officer's sword, 1860 pattern, owned and commissioned by M. H. Hudgson, from Henry Wilkinson & Son, 13th July 1868, the 32 1/2in. (82cms) blade decorated with Royal cypher foliate scrolls, monogram for M.H. below crest, maker's name and serial number 14515 (comes with a copy of Wilkinson logbook entry), the hilt with pierced scrolling brass guard decorated with Royal cypher, wire-bound shagreen grip and stepped pommel, fitted steel scabbard with two hanging rings, 39in. (99cms) long overall.
A late Victorian silver lighthouse sugar caster, having pierced cover and all-over leaf and flower embossed cylindrical body, 3.7oz, maker Henry Wilkinson & Co Ltd, London 1894, h.14cm Condition Report / Extra Information No monograms. Base marks excellent. Marks to cover visible but worn. Small dent to top of cover (not obvious). Screw thread poor. Interior gilt washed. Otherwise no apparent faults.

*A Burma Distinguished Service Order Pair awarded to Major Thomas Henry des Voeux Wilkinson, 1st Battalion Rifle Brigade: Distinguished Service Order, Victoria, in gold and enamels, and India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps Burma, 1885-7, Burma 1887-89 (Lieut. & Adj J.H.D.V. Wilkinson, 1st Bn. Rifle Brig.), D.S.O. in case of issue, extremely fine, I.G.S. good very fine (2). D.S.O. London Gazette: 25 November 1887: ‘For services in Burma.’ Mention in Despatches: London Gazette: 2 September 1887: ‘Lieutenant Wilkinson, Rifle Brigade, has done most excellent service as Superintendent of Signalling in the 6th Brigade. His activity and energy were witnessed by his Excellency the Commander-in –Chief in India, and Brigadier Low speaks in the highest terms of the tact and courage displayed by him in working out the system of signalling station, which has been crowned with such success.’ The lot is offered with the following additional items: Rules for Army Signallers Volumes I and II, American Baptist Mission Press, Rangoon 1887, written by Wilkinson, an original studio portrait photograph, a riband bar, and the original case for the 1897 Diamond Jubilee medal (which Wilkinson was awarded on 22 June 1897, shortly before his promotion to Major on 5 September in the same year).
