A ROYAL SCOTS BASKET HILTED SWORD the Wilkinson Sword Co blade No 50721 with etched post 1902 crown, ROYAL SCOTS, thistles and partially erased name of [second lieutenant] J[ames] W[ilson] McT[urk] Raine (1896-k.i.a. 1916), later basket hilt, silver twist wire bound fishskin grip, suede backed scarlet felt lining, leather covered scabbard with nickel plated brass mounts (sold with the original cross hilt) Rehilted presumably for the present vendor (a former officer in the regiment) and in excellent overall condition. The leather scabbard slightly scuffed and with later brown leather strap. The original cross hilt stamped 32 and with some rust pitting

A George III mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with rolling moon to arch above a silvered chapter ring with Roman hour numerals, framing a foliate engraved centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed `Wilkinson, Wigton`, the hood with moulded arch pediment and brass ball finials above a glazed door flanked by stop fluted Corinthian columns, the trunk with arched door flanked by fluted corner columns on a panelled base and bracket feet, height approx 233cm, together with pendulum and two weights (alterations and restoration).
