A Victorian Non-Regulation Cavalry Officer's Sword, made for the East India Company, the part-fullered, single edge blade, length 89.5 cm, by Henry Wilkinson, etched with the crest of the East India Company and Victoria cypher amongst foliate scrolled panels, further with a panel of sanskrit adjacent to the ricasso, the steel hilt pierced and engraved with foliage, scrolling quillon, wire-bound fishskin grip, the plated scabbard with twin ring suspensionsBlade with areas of light rusting. A very good George V Cameron Highlanders Officer's basket hilted broadsword, 82cm blade by Wilkinson Sword, serial no. 64361, etched with thistles, THE QUEEN'S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS, crowned regimental device, crowned GVR cipher and owner's initials J.F.M for Captain (1940) J. F. McLaurin MBE (MIL), retaining its original polish and etched grey ground, regulation plated hilt composed of flattened rounded bars united by heart-pierced junction plates, contained in its plated mounted brown leather field service scabbard, complete with scarlet faced chamois basket liner and red silk tassel.
An historically interesting Royal Engineer's Officer's sword to Lt. Colonel Owen Haig Bayldon, 82.5cm blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 37420, etched with scrolling foliage, regimental motifs, crowned Royal Arms and owner's initials and crest, regulation plated three-bar hilt, wire bound fish skin grip, contained in its field service scabbard. Lt Colonel Owen Haig Bayldon had a particularly interesting career serving with both the Army and the RAF and a keen sailor. In 1900 Bayldon joined the 1st Middlesex Volunteer Engineers before transferring to the Reserve Army Service Corps, then the Motor Volunteer Corps, temporary Major in the Department of the Master General of Ordnance, during the First War he served as a Temporary Major in the Royal Engineers Special Reserve for four days he served in France 19th of July 1915 to 23rd of July 1915 for which he was Mentioned in Despatches. During the Second War he served as a Lt. Colonel (Retired) with the RAF as Deputy Directorate of Intelligence, believed to be working on Radio Communications and Radar.
