A large collection of various die proof engraver's test strikes, including portrait vignettes, borders and other design elements, probably used in the production of banknotes, in various colours on paper/card. Note: looking through the Alan Dow archive, we have been unable to associate these designs with particular banknotes. It is possible that they have been used, but it is more likely that they were ideas to be put forward. Note: the Series B one hundred pounds note was never put into circulation, owing to a number of disagreements about design and to concerns that it would facilitate the illegal movement of cash.
