A pair of presentation swords, by Wilkinson, London. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Condition is good, the hilts with wire grips, the brass finished metal slightly rubbed but otherwise good. Blade length 76 cm. Provenance: They were presented to a member of the vendors family who worked at Wilkinson Sword.

According ancient texts, this area was occupied by indigenous peoples and during the first phase of occupation, relations were peaceful. Only, in second phase, Greeks controlled all othe centres. Considering this origin, we understand because there were a lot of cults in the city and in its chora. Many og those cults are rappresented on coins, accompanied with barley-ear. .

An officer`s cavalry sword by Wilkinson Sword, with plain straight single edged blade, length approx 98cm, bearing Henry Wilkinson octagonal proof mark, nickel plated non-voided bowl with foliate scroll decoration and vacant panel, wire bound ivory grip (plating lifting, binding loose), in its leather covered wooden scabbard (scuffed).

A GEORGE IV YELLOW METAL AND CITRINE BROOCH, the oval deep amber citrine within a scroll embossed and engraved surround, engraved inscription to the reverse `Ann Wilkinson Oct 17th 1829 AEt 80` unmarked but testing as 9ct gold. 5cm x 4cm, 23grams(total) Condition Report: Stone loose in setting, some losses to setting edge, minor dents to reverse with some wear.

A Third Reich Army officer’s dagger, by Eickhorn, with dark orange/brown plastic grip and silver plated mounts, in its sheath. Basically GC (grip chipped and cracked, some corrosion to mounts); also a 1907 SMLE bayonet by Wilkinson, in its scabbard, GC (lightly rusted and worn overall, point rounded off). (2)
A rare and most interesting 1853 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword, specially made by Wilkinson’s for the Yokohama Mounted Rifles, almost straight, fullered blade 34½”, with narrow back fuller, etched logo of “Wilkinson Pall Mall London” on one side at forte, signaturer of J Latham (the owner of Wilkinsons at that date) and no 14416 on fore edge at forte, scrolls “Yokohama Mounted Volunteers” on the other side of blade, regulation steel hilt with flattened knucklebow, sideloop and 3 sidebars, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings; with photostat article stating that 20 of these swords were made for forces supporting the Japanese Emperor in the civil war of 1866. GC, the blade retaining most original finish (hilt and scabbard rusted overall). Plate 6
