A George III oak longcase clock outlined throughout with mahogany cross banded borders the hood with swan neck pediment centred on an eagle and ball finial, the arched brass dial with Tempus Fugit roundel, flanked by dolphin spandrels, the brass chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals the matted centre dial with circular cartouche inscribed Donisthorp, Normanton, eight day movement striking on a bell, subsidiary month aperture, the hood with pair of brass capped fluted pillars, the trunk with shaped door centred on a shaded shell patera, shaped apron and bracket feet, 218 cm high, Circa 1800 (faults)
A late 19th century French trunk with simulated pigskin cover reinforced with wooden straps, and copper edges and corners, with two carrying handles and with a decoration of studs to the hinged lid, and a plaque engraved "P.D. Nancy", the interior covered in ticking, including two removable shelves and a divided base, width 79cm, height 44cm, and a metal plaque stating "Ferme la porte SVP" (2).
A GOOD PAIR OF 17TH CENTURY CHINESE BRONZE VASES, relatively large in size, with good unpolished patination, each in the form of a knarled tree trunk upon which grows some stems of plum blossom, one vase also cast with a kneeling monkey, the other vase with a deer and a bird, 11.25in & 11in high.
