ROMA 1867', 118cm high, 38cm wide.Provenance: The Property of a Nobleman.     Lot 395 – marble Baccus.  Overall his hand, arm and tips of the great leaves are a little discoloured and grubby.  Overall a little grubby.  An orange stain to the top of his head with some wear to high points.  His cup is missing but has been replaced in turned wood. Some surface marks, with a 3cm incised scratch to his torso.  Some pitt marks to his left side of body and to back and to arms.  Old chips and losses to ewer and to the toes on his right foot.  An old break to the back of the base which has been repaired. Some old chips to the edge of the base. Some staining to the marble. Some natural veining apparent to marble, especially to legs and arms.
