A George III mahogany longcase clock, by James Gray of Edinburgh, with swans neck pediment above the 12 inch arched painted dial with Roman numerals, two-train movement and subsidiary date and seconds dials, flanked by fluted columns and with long trunk door and raised on bracket feet. Height 87 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case is a typical Edinburgh type case and we believe that the item is not a marriage. The cheeks of the case have not been built up and the seatboard appears old. The mask around the face fits reasonably well. The swans neck pediment has old cracks running from left to right but there are no losses. The fretwork beneath is in good order. The glazed door is loose at the top hinge but there are no losses. The trunk door is not warped. The face of the clock and sides are also in good order. The clock case has probably been repolished at sometime within the last 10 years but this has been done reasonably well. The clock face centre has been restored and the numerals, subsidiary dials and makers name have all been repainted. The blue corner spandrels and arch appear to be in their original condition. The clock is currently ticking away. There are minor losses to the top left and right hand corners of the swans neck pediment but these losses are not significant.
A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock by John Stancliffe, with swans neck pediment above the arched brass dial, with eight day movement, moon phase, date aperture, subsidiary seconds dial, silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals, flanked by fluted columns with brass capitals, with long trunk door beneath and with conforming base raised on ogee bracket feet. Height 91 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This clock maybe a marriage. The cheeks have not been built up however they may have been completely replaced at some point. The mask around the top of the arch is in two pieces which is also not usual. Having said this the fit around the dial is good and the clock does not look like a marriage from the outside and may well not be. The case is in generally good condition. The hood is in good order. The door is in good condition and not warped. The clock appears to be ticking away as it should and appears to be striking also. There are some minor losses to the blind fretwork around the collar above the door. The trunk door is flat and not warped and the case base is in very good condition. The bracket feet are original and in good order also.
An Edwardian mahogany grandmother clock, in the George III style, with three-train fusee musical movement, eight bells, four gongs and strike gong, with both Westminster and Eight Bells chime, with moon phase to the arch, face width 9 ins, with long trunk door beneath flanked by quarter column corners and raised on splayed bracket feet. CONDITION REPORT: The height to the top of the finial is 86.5 ins. Width across the bottom of the hood 15 ins. Depth at deepest point 9 ins. The case is in generally very good condition and does not require any repair or restoration. The trunk door is not warped and there are no serious splits, cracks or significant problems with the case. The only cracks in evidence are on the left and the right hand side returns of the top of the pagoda hood. These are simply stress fractures and in our opinion fairly insignificant. The clock is triple fusee and is currently ticking away. The movement is a little dirty and does wind on all three trains. The movement does strike and chime when operated manually by moving the pointers, this is a little sporadic because the movement does need cleaning. As stated as far as we can tell the only real issue is that the movement requires a clean and lubrication.
A George III longcase clock by Hugh Lough of Penrith, with thirty hour movement, moulded dentil cornice above the 11 inch square brass dial inscribed "Elizabeth Thompson, Dacre 1784", with date aperture, Roman numerals and silvered chapter ring, with long trunk door and raised on bracket feet. Height 75 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: We do not think that this clock is a marriage even through the construction below the seatboard is a little strange. The case and movement are certainly of the correct period and the case is very similar to other Lough clocks that we have seen. The dial fits the mask very well. The case is in very good order generally. The hood has only one problem, namely a cracked glass. Below the hood there is some of the dentil work missing, approximately 2 ins on the right hand return and 1 inch on the left. The remainder of the case is in very good condition. The clock is currently ticking away and striking as it should.

Height 80.5 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good condition. There is no damage and no losses of any note. We have the pendulum and two weights. We have not had the clock going but if weight is applied to the movement the clock appears to operate as it should.
An early 19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock by James Scott of Kendal, with painted dial, two-train striking movement, the case with swans pediment, cluster columns and raised on bracket feet. Height 85 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good order. There are some minor veneer losses to the glazed door which should be evident from our image. The trunk door is not warped and the base is in generally good order also. We have both weights and the pendulum but have not had the clock running. The movement seems to be complete. The dial is also very clean and does not require any restoration.

CONDITION REPORT: All six figures have some damage which is why they have been catalogued together. The small pair of bocage figures have small losses to the floral bocage behind each figure. The female figure has a more substantial loss to the bottom left hand facing branch. The figures themselves and bases are in good order.
