A 19th Century carved oak longcase clock With 30cm arched brass dial signed Edward Hopkins, Bradford with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the spandrels engraved with figures emblematic of the four seasons, the lunar calendar engraved with the "moons age" painted with a galleon and figures in landscape, the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a saucer bell, the case with a cavetto cornice above leaf carved spandrels, damaged glazed door, the trunk carved with flower heads and leaves, lozenge and flower carved sides raised upon a panel plinth similarly carved and shaped bracket feet. 220cms high x width of plinth 42cms x 23cms, with two weights, pendulum and movement winding key.
A mahogany cased granddaughter clock With an arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, Roman and Arabic numerals, cast mask and leafy spandrels the arch centred with an oval cast with fruit and leaves pierced blued hands and a centre seconds sweep the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement now striking on coiled gong with a four pillar brass movement the case with a swan neck cresting with rose finials, rose terminals above a gilt metal pineapple finial, pierced fretwork frieze above fluted baluster columns, pierced fretwork sides the trunk with a mahogany crossbanded door flanked by similar columns raised upon a panel plinth base and claw and ball feet, plain rear legs with two weights and a pendulum. 192cms high x30x47cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The case, the hood with a pineapple gilt finial, the plinth which it sits upon and the lower small plinth may be associated, dentil and blind fretwork and flowers good condition, hinges sound but a little loose, glass good condition, old putty around the rim, fluted columns good condition, fret work sides good condition, the trunk door fits flush to cabinet no warp, hinges solid no movement, minor scratching just below the door, minor surface scratching to raised panel plinth, some scratching to front claw and egg feet, the arched dial surface scratching to the arch, possibly later centre sweep hand, movement striking on a coiled gong, foot board original some rust to the pendulum hook, some signs of later soldering to the bracket which supports the pendulum, movement complete, some space between the arched dial and the cheek boards, with two weights and a pendulum.

An 18th Century oak and later carved ebonised longcase clock With a 31cm brass dial signed Will Barnish, Rochdale with Roman and Arabic numerals, date aperture the centre engraved with leaves and scrolls, cast mask and leafy spandrels the 30 hour movement with outside count wheel striking on a saucer bell the case with a gauntlet and spear cresting, bell shape top above a plain frieze, leaf carved columns the trunk door carved with lozenges, leaves and flower heads raised upon a similarly carved plinth base with one weight and a pendulum. 216cms x49cms wide.
A good George III inlaid mahogany longcase clock With a 33cm arched brass dial signed Latham, Wigan with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, cast gilt metal mask and leaf spandrels, the lunar calendar painted with a stone bridge and a castle, the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement rack striking on a bell in a good quality case with a pagoda top, swan neck cresting with gilt flower and leaf terminals painted glass panels above brass capped fluted columns the trunk door with well figured wood flanked by quarter columns raised upon a panelled plinth base lacking bracket feet, approximately 230cms high x 50cms with two weights, pendulum and door key. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Pagoda shape top to the hood lacking a finial, carved flowers part of the scrolling leaf damaged approximately 2.5cms, the glass frieze possible crack or division in the centre and a crack on the right hand side, gilt decoration dull, glass to door original, holder original putty in place, crossbanding and line inlays to door good some tarnishing to the gilded tops and plinth of fluted columns, left hand back column lacking, the right hand back column sits overtly proud, trunk, pine back natural shrinkage crack, old wall fixing screw apertures, long door warped at the top and dose not close tight, good colour, discolouration to the capitals and bases of the fluted side columns, original pine horizontal board to bottom plinth, side moulding right hand side missing, stress crack running horizontally on the bottom of the raised panel plinth good colour, the panel is sitting proud on the right hand side and requires tightening, lacking feet, the arched dial some discolouration to gilding the arch, lunar calendar some scratching to the paintwork of the castle, moon face and bridge rubbing to the silvered chapter ring, some dirt discolouration to the central matted ground, scratching and rubbing to the seconds ring and date aperture, fingers appear original. movement not running (the side. moulding off the plinth is in the box with the clock requires re-fixing, but slightly chipped on the outer edge), foot board part replaced.
Two late 19th century leather sewing companions, comprising; a black leather dome top trunk form example with brass bindings, leather carrying handles, gilt brass latch and end bosses, the green silk lined interior with steel scissors, tweezer/earspoon, bodkin and three other tools, 21cm x 7cm x 7.5cm, and another, rectangular, in blue morocco, faded velvet tool card with a selection of pearl, bone and steel tools below a ruched purple silk lid panel with needle packets, 19.5cm x 13.2cm x 5.5cm. Stripling/Lichfield, eight-day movement striking on a bell, shaped rectangular door to trunk flanked by attached quarter columns, turned feet 91in (230cm) high, c. 1810 Thomas Stripling came to Luichfield from Coventry in 1761 to take over the business of James Hunt who had died that year. From 1775 he was in partnership with his nephew Thomas Gilbert and from that time some of the clocks are signed Stripling & Gilbert.to 1817, when it became T Stripling again, although the original Thomas was by then dead..

Welsh fusiliers busby box rusty, cockade box good.
