The trunk door is warped. The gap on closing has been thoughtfully filled by a small fillet to the back of the arch on the door at the top and again on the bottom, so when closed no gap is visible. Overall some marks, chips and knocks commensurate with age. The two dolphin spandrels may have been changed as there is a vacant hole to each side just below the current holding screw. There are also a number of other holes visible to the back of the dial. The movement does appear original to the dial. However, the dial and movement may be associated with the case.With two lead weights, a steel and brass pendulum, one case key and a crank key.

The case is in good condition. It has been repolished at some point fairly recently. Some marks and knocks commensurate with age. The movement appears to be in good condition and well maintained. It is a bit oily and might benefit from a clean. The automata mechanism appears to be working. The brass arch around the diorama is possibly replaced: it has a slightly different colour to the brass dial plate and uneven joints where new meets old. The decoration is likely to have been refreshed. The vessels are maybe replaced? The three sailing vessels each have intact rigging lines. With the finials removed the clock is 231cm tall to the centre of the plinth top.

In 1918 it was acquired by the Bank of Liverpool and was known as Bank of Liverpool and Martins. It was absorbed by Barclays Bank in 1969.CONDITION REPORTWith its pendulum. Overall in good condition. The metal work is tarnished. The hands would benefit from re-blueing. The bezel has had a pin-hole drilled on the left side as some sort of fixing point and the corresponding point on the wood bezel has a hole which could now be filled. There is an adequate pin and catch lock on the reverse of the wood surround to lock the bezel. The movement would benefit from a clean.

The base has a vertical split. Some marks and knocks commensurate with age. The panel door has lost its lock. The movement appears in good condition and fairly recently cleaned. Two cast iron weights, cast iron and steel rod pendulum, steel crank winding key.
A Viennese gilt-brass mounted enamel octofoil-shaped dish, in the manner of Hermann Ratzersdorfer, late 19th century, the enamel panels painted with Greek mythological vignettes, the frame with C-scrolls and masks, 32 x 28.5cm Condition Report: This dish is in generally good overall condition. The enamel panels - the panel at 10/11 o'clock with a tiny impact knock by the tree trunk. The border panel at the top with two hairline fractures running across the mountain to the background and into the sky. The panel at 1/2 o'clock has a diagonal hairline fracture in the top left corner. The tomb in the lower border panel has a small hairline crack. The are various minor surface scratches in areas consistent with age. The gilded mounts are worn with some tarnishing to the recesses of the masks. The reverse has some worn patches to the central panel where the decoration has rubbed completely away.
