A good George III 30 hour oak long clock, domed top to hood supported on turned ringed columns, brass round 12in (30.5cm) dial, Roman chapter with outer Arabic minutes chapter, florally engraved centre, demi-lune date aperture, signed Dugmore/Derby 30 hour ringed four pillar movement countwheel striking on a bell, shaped top to trunk door, shaped brass escutcheon with original key, skirted base, wire rod pendulum and weight, 82in (208.3cm) high (3)John Dugmore (1721-1792) was apprenticed to Thomas Storer of Derby 1735-1742 and set up in business in Rotten Row, Market Place. In 1776 he was made an honorary burgess of Derby & he was also a property owner. He made both traditional and round dial clocks, also with eight day movements. His son Thomas (1766-1832) became an attorney at Thetford, Norfolk. A similar clock is on display in the kitchen at Pickford's House Museum, Derby.

Shipley/Derby, 8-day movement striking on a bell, curly pediment with brass paterae to hood supported on turned columns, inlaid mahogany frieze below hood, fluted quarter columns flanking trunk door with shaped top with marquetry urn in vesica shaped reserve, panel and canted angles to base, bracket feet, pendulum & weights, 87.25in (221.5cm) high.James Shipley (1784-1850) was son of William, of a clockmaking dynasty. He was apprenticed to his uncle 1798-1805 and worked with his elder brother Jonathan until the latter's death in 1811, after which he worked alone and later with his sons Bevel and Digby Shipley. In 1806 he purchased the bankrupt stock of William & John Holliwell of Derby, and worked from no less than four addresses, ending in St. James's Lane from 1843, where he was succeeded by his sons.

He was father to the eminent James Condliff of Liverpool (1790-1851)

Set up at Deal 1721 and retired 1764.
An Italian patinated bronze of the Bacchic Faun or 'Faun in Rosso Antico', after the Antique, probably Rome, first half 19th century, the grinning faun portrayed standing and nude for a draped goat's skin around his shoulders, raising a bunch of grapes with his right hand and holding a curved club in the other, flanked by a tree trunk with pan flute to one side, and with a goat leaning on a wicker basket to the other, on an integral octagonal plinth, 36cm high, 21cm wide The present model is a reduction of the Faun in Rosso Antico marble which was excavated before 1741 at Hadrian's Villa. The marble group was subsequently given to the Capitoline Museums by Pope Benedict XIV in 1746, where it was met with admiration. The workshop of Giovanni Zoffoli is known to have produced reductions of the Faun, and an example of very similar size and patination by this maker is at Anglesey Abbey. An early 19th century oak longcase clock by Thomas Brass, Guildford, H.220cm Condition: Case looks to have been restored and repolished many years ago, is of mid dark brown tone but now a little tired and in need of some attention, arch to the top has two pronounced splits in the moulding, signs of old repair to the lower right hinge of the hood door, dial oxidised but otherwise looks original, movement complete but not tested for timekeeping, trunk door has dropped a little and now has two keyholes, the original hole has a brass escutcheon but missing lock, a later lock has been added above with a cut escutcheon but no key, comes with brass faced pendulum, one brass cased weight and one cast iron weight, box base a little faded but complete.

All raised on carved spade feet with a heavily flared and gadrooned carved plinth. Measures 69cm x 117cm x 58cm
同治底印 鍾山作款 粉彩花鳥紋六角形溫酒套壺 the outer porcelain insulator raised on six bracket-shaped feet, three exterior panels decorated a bird perching on a tree trunk with chrysanthemums, the three remaining panels inscribed with inscriptions ending with 'Zhong Shang Zhou', the cylindrical footed wine pot delicately painted with blossoming flowers, the shoulders adorned with bamboo leaves in iron red and the top with a ' f ou' character meaning 'luck' in black, the shoulders, spout and top of the teapot with gilt rim; the outer insulator with gilt rim, both fitted with two wire handles, each base stamped with a four-character Tongzhi mark in iron red, with a wooden stand (Dimensions: 13cm high) (Qty: 1)
