A mid 19th century mahogany longcase clock by John Cameron, Kilmarnock (1836-9). The straight stepped canopy with semi-circular door, painted dial with rural scenes depicting 'Spring', 'Summer', 'Harvest', 'Winter' and the 'Pass of Killiecrankie'. The dial is also painted with Roman numerals and has two subsidiary dials with Arabic numerals (for seconds and days of the month). Trunk with long door on square box base. Eight-day, two-train movement, striking on a single bell. 214 x 56cm. Condition reports are not available for our Interiors Sales.

A late Victorian mahogany longcase clock: the eight-day duration movement having a dead-beat escapement and striking the hours on a gong, the twelve-inch break-arch dial having a raised silvered chapter ring with engraved black Roman numerals, fleur-de-lys half-hour markings and outer Arabic five-minute markings, the matted centre having a subsidiary seconds dial, the arch having a 'strike/silent' dial, with cast-brass c-scroll spandrels to the four corners and dolphin spandrels to the arch and decorative blued steel hands, the mahogany case having a swan-neck pediment with a brass ball-and-spire finial to the centre, canted corners to the hood and trunk, a shaped door and matching raised panel to the base, all standing on bracket feet, height 226cms (inc finial).

Roncheti & Co, Fecit, with a sliding Vernier gauge, the mahogany case having an architectural pediment with a brass finial, canted corners to the trunk and a turned cistern cover to the base, with a visible tube, height 98cms.* Biography Baptista Ronchetti (sometimes Roncheti) is recorded as working in Spear Street, Manchester from 1785 having come from Tavernerio in Italy, before moving to 15 High Street. His son Joshua joined him from Italy, as did his nephew Lewis Casertelli. Until circa 1800 he was also in partnership with Lomas.
