A Mahogany Drop Dial Striking Wall Clock, H Dixon, Salisbury, circa 1850, octagonal shaped case with brass inlay, side and bottom opening doors, trunk with pendulum viewing window and side carved mounts, 12-inch convex dial with Roman numerals, twin fusee movement with anchor escapement and striking on a bell, 68cm high 30.01.15, Case with small cracks to veneers, brass inlay slightly lifting in parts, side carved mounts are later, small chips around the bottom door moulding, dial has been totally re-painted to a high standard, movement is complete, with pendulum.
An Unusual Large Size Drop Dial Wall Timepiece, R Rolfe, Clerkenwell, architectural pediment, recessed rectangular trunk door flanked with carved scroll leaf mouldings, recessed waisted plinth with carved border, 24-inch painted dial with Roman numerals, single weight driven four pillar movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, movement front plate stamped RR and numbered 2028, 231cm high Rolfe is recorded working in London 1832-1881. By repute, this timepiece was removed from an East Anglian railway station circa 1940. In 1969 it was used in a Suffolk sawmill acquired by the vendor's family and kept there until 1987 when it was placed in storage whilst a new building was erected. 29.01.15, Case has been restored, polished surfaces, some later mouldings, hood with later door latch, front of the case with small dents, dial has been totally re-painted to a high standard, movement looks complete, with weight and pendulum.
An Oak Thirty Hour Longcase Clock, signed John Lupton, circa 1750, caddied hood, glazed side panels, 9-inch square brass dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, single hand, four pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking on a bell, 222cm high 23.01.15, Hood with later caddy, wooden dial surround with slight damage and with a securing block to the reverse, later finials, trunk door edges with some splits, some replaced crossbanding, some cracks to plinth, skirting is later, top and bottom of the backboard are later, dial is slightly dirty, movement looks complete, later bell, together with weight and pendulum.
A Walnut Chiming Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Tho Cartwright, Watchmaker to ye Prince, London, circa 1730, caddied hood with brass flame finials, glass side panels, trunk door with bevelled glass panel, stepped moulded plinth, 12-inch arched brass dial with silvered Arabic and Roman chapter ring, matted dial centre with date aperture and seconds dial, arch with lunar aperture, tidal dial and signed, triple weight driven five pillar movement with anchor escapement, quarter chiming with eight hammers striking a nest of eight bells and a further hammer striking a bell for the hours, later case, 270cm high 23.01.15, Case surfaces are polished, pierced front fret with some chips, later finials, some chips and cracks to the mouldings, left hand column of the hood with damage, case with replaced veneers in parts, wooden dial surround with chips and has been replaced, later trunk door and bevelled glass, later door hinges, plinth is re-built, bottom of the backboard is later, dial is clean, hand collet and the pin is missing, strike and chime mechanism needs re-setting, movement looks clean, later seatboard, two wooden blocks are beneath the seatboard on top of the case side cheeks, together with three later weights and a pendulum, dial and movement are circa 1730, the case is later.
A Musical Walnut Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Tho Cartwright, Principi Horologious, Londini, Fecit, circa 1720, the Dutch style case with a caddied hood and three gilded finials, pierced side frets, arched trunk door with inlaid stringing and central glazed lenticle, bombe plinth with claw and ball feet, 12-inch arched brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, dial centre with date aperture, seconds dial and signed, arch with a two tune selection dial for The Fryar & ye nun/The happy clown, triple weight driven six pillar movement with anchor escapement, half hour and hour striking and playing the musical tune on the hour with sixteen hammers striking a nest of eight bells, 296cm high 23.01.15, Caddied portion of the hood has been re-built, case with some replaced veneers, slight fading to the trunk door, trunk door mouldings are lifting and with some cracks, bottom of the backboard is loose, case sides are faded, part of the plinth has been re-built and the bombay front appears to have been later added, silvered chapter ring is slightly faded, hour and half hour striking is not working correctly, musical tunes are working on the hour, strike needs re-setting, movement in going order, with three weights and a pendulum.
A musical longcase clock, the 30 cm arched square brass dial having a silvered chapter ring, signed Wm North, London, with a subsidiary CHIME/SILENT and seconds dial, fitted an eight day movement striking on eight bells and a gong, in an inlaid mahogany case, 234 cm high (over finial) (case a.f.) See illustration Condition report Report by RB The dial has 4 Bells/8 Bells regulator 2 III, the gilt spandrels to the arch are of a more glitzy gilt colour, and actually cover some engraved decoration and are therefore probably later, there is a hole to the CHIME/SILENT subsidiary dial, just underneath the centre pin of the dial, the movement is quite substantial, as you would expect, but clearly has not run in a decade or two, the case has now fallen to pieces and is in a flat pack condition (!), having been subjected to several years of central heating, the trunk door is slightly bowed, as is the base sections, the back board (to which the gong is attached) has a Spillman & Co, St Martin's Lane, London, ivorine plaque, there is a section of approx. 6.5 cm taken out of the back right hand side, about 90% towards the top (approx. 1.5 cm deep), and although the case now needs putting back together it is actually quite a pleasing colour, with general knocks, wear and tear as one would expect, with pendulum (repaired) and two weights, most of the case parts are present, it has basically just collapsed due to central heating in the house for too long

A late 18th century Welsh oak longcase clock by Vaughan of Pontypool the square brass dial with Roman chapter ring with Arabic outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial at noon and demi-lune date aperture at six, each with scalloped borders, the centre signed 'C. Vaughan Pont Pool' and with engraved crescent border, gilt brass mask spandrels, 30 hour weight driven movement with countwheel strike, in an oak case with swan neck cornice with gilt brass finials, supported on turned columns, the trunk with reeded borders, on a plain base with serpentine bracket feet, 84 ¾in. (215cm.) high.

A vintage car trunk With a hinged top above a fall front indistinct owners registration mark enclosing a hinged case, with plated mounts, strap handle, 54cms, a similar smaller case 41x45cms above a similar long drawer 96cms with carrying handles 46x99x49cms. CONDITION REPORT: The outer canvas in good condition, angles with wear to the outer edges, nails rusted, hinged top in good condition, two hinged fastens good condition but discoloured. Fall front with traces of original number plate oxidised locks turning green, metal angles rusted, interior original green folding straps in good condition, leatherette handles discoloured. Lock plates generally bright with some oxidisation to the screws, right hand drawer with hinge cover musty, leather musty, staining to the silk type lining. Drawer to the left larger, rectangular lock plate bright minor oxidisation, the hinged fasten on the left rusted and oxidised, hinge good condition, mildew to the interior, green sateen lining stained some damage. Long drawer at the base scratching to the surface minor oxidisation to lock plates, wear to the green sateen interior, when the drawer is removed extensive discolouration to the green sateen lining, the right hand side original lug handles, initials AWW, generally good condition for its age.
A good leather and brass embellished suitcase by J W Allen, 57 Strand, London 1862 The rectangular hinged top with a brass initialled oval with a folding compartment, gilt tooled leather interior with original makers label J W Allen 1862 to HRH the Prince of Wales, original leather straps 21x57x34cms and a canvas trunk with hardwood bands and an LMS Stafford paper label 71x48x30cms (2). CONDITION REPORT: Suitcase with original leather straps, each cross support leather strap has brass roundels with engraved borders, original leather handle with tooled edges, rectangular lock plate original, secure patent stamp, complete with hinged hasp. Original oval brass, cracking and scratching to the surface. Interior with a Morocco and gilt tooled leather interior to lid with a hinged panel with gilt brass studs, central hinged compartment of envelope form. Some separation at the bottom, original label J W Allen Strand 1862. Interior of the lower section Morocco gilt tooled leather some ware and separation to the interior angles but not visible from the exterior. With this lot is a canvas trunk; original lock plate hasp, wear considerate to age, label LMS Stafford with a triangular stork motif logo.
A George III mahogany and walnut longcase clock With a signed in the arch James Leckie, Glasgow, flanked by dolphin spandrels, the dial with subsidiary seconds dial, and date aperture, mask, leaf and shell spandrels the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement rack striking on a bell, bell lacking, the case with a swan neck cresting, foliate terminals, brass vase finial, the hood with brass capped columns, the trunk with a plain long door raised upon a plinth base, clock lacking side glazed panel, 214cms high, with two weights and a pendulum.
An oak longcase clock 18th Century and later With a 19cm brass and silvered dial, detached with Roman numerals, mask and leafy spandrels the arch automaton with figures of Adam and Eve either side of tree of knowledge, Wilson false plate the two train eight day movement striking on a saucer bell, the case with an arched top above turned hood columns, glass door detached and cracked, the trunk with a long panelled door raised upon a panel plinth base, 178cms high with a pendulum.
A 19th Century oak and mahogany longcase clock With a 35cm white dial signed J Evans, Pwllheli, with Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the spandrels painted with leaves, the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a saucer bell, the case with a swan neck cresting, brass roundel finials above brass capped reeded columns, the trunk with a shaped door flanked by fluted columns raised upon a plinth base, 211cms.
A 20th Century oak three train grandmother clock With a 20cm brass and silvered dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, mask spandrels with a Tempus Fugit roundel in the arch with a three train Enfield movement striking on eight gongs, the case with an arched hood above a panelled trunk door raised upon an outset plinth and compressed bun feet with a rod pendulum, 166.5x35.5cms.
