JOHN WALKER STATION REGULATOR, circa 1885, numbered 558 SE, the 17" painted dial, in a brass bezel, inscribed BR (S), John Walker, 1, South Molton St, London 558 SE, the reverse inscribed Esher, Up-Platform, 558, on a brass eight day single train movement stamped SER, housed in an oak case with scrolling decoration above the arched trunk door, the inside of the trunk stamped SER, the reverse of the door with applied plaque engraved 558 beneath the remains of a paper label inscribed Esher, height 165cm Footnote: copies of the BR stock inventory supplied with this lot show when it was supplied and where it was to be fixed which confirm that clock 558 was indeed supplied to Esher, up Platform.
