A Fine Empire Figural Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock. The dial set into the base of a brown patinated tree trunk entwined with ivy with one branch bent over a gilded rivelet and a wrythen fluted crystal spout of water swivelling via the movement of the clock to emulate a spring flowing from a rocky outcrop encrusted with gilded rushes and leaves. The central figure of winged boy in windswept drapes leaping over the water. The gilt plinth ornamented with a scallop shell mount flanked by dolphins, tridents and bull rushes with a band of anthemion motifs. Standing on unusual winged ball feet 19 ins (48 cms) in height.
