A Regency kingwood sofa table, crossbanded in satinwood, each flap with rounded corners, with two frieze drawers with brass drop handles with embossed oval backplates, with high centre stretcher to tapering ends and raised on scroll legs raised on brass paw feet with castors. Width closed 36 ins (see illustration).

A George IV carved giltwood scroll end sofa, circa 1825, in the manner of Gillows, 102cm high, 200cm wide, 77cm deep (some later paint). Many of the carved details of this sofa, including the reeded legs and the characteristic scrolls, relate closely to those employed by Gillows in various forms of furniture produced by the firm. Designs for the legs and frieze terminals closely relating to those of this sofa also exist in George Smith`s Cabinet-Makers & Upholsterers Guide of 1826.
