Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) for Finmar Ltd - a 1930s model 544 three-seater Paimio sofa, having bent ply arms and central support, upholstered in green herringbone fabric, labelled 'Finmar Ltd' and stamped 'Aalto Design Made in Finland' to underside of one arm, w.165cm. 161 x 62 x 84cm.1930s.Upholstery appears original.No noticeable losses or tears, but some fraying o bottom front edge where separated from hessian underside.Springs to base and back support are largely shot and require repairs.Right arm support is completely removed from frame.Some darkening of patina and further wear & tear to right support.Lamination to frame is generally good and complete.Timber areas are scuffed and scratched, with general age and use wear throughout.
