TROLLOPE THOMAS ADOLPHUS: (1810-1892) English Writer who lived most of his life in Italy creating a renowned villa in Florence. A.L.S., T. Adolphus Trollope, three pages, Florence, 17th November 1864, to a lady, evidently a singer, on the printed stationery of Villino Trollope. Trollope states 'I wanted to tell you that the sofa for which I left a ticket at your house is for three, but one of the places is a bad one, as it is behind the proscenium' and continues 'I told Mrs. Ritchie that you would sing for her….at her second concert, this day fortnight. I did not clearly understand from you, and therefore did not venture to say whether Signor Boccardi would also sing. Please let me know this.' He concludes by offering to accompany his correspondent to the theatre although advises '…it must be at half past seven, as being one of the stewards I am obliged to be there early'. The final page is neatly laid down to a contemporary 4to card and there are some very minor, light stains, only very slightly affecting the text and signature, caused by the mounting.
