A fine quality 19th Century mahogany drop-leaf Sofa Table, in the manner of Duncan Phyffe (1770-1854), the plain top with drop flaps over a frieze with two drawers supported by lyre ends, united by turned stretcher on outsplayed legs terminating on hairy paw brass castors, approx. 146cms open long x 74cms deep (57 1/2" x 29"). Hanna Nagel, Ruhendes Paarsich auf einem Sofa räkelnde junge Frau mit leuchtendem Oberteil und zum Betrachter gerichtetem Blick, zu ihrer Rechten ein Zigarette rauchender junger Mann, Tusche und Deckfarben auf blauem Papier, Mitte 20. Jh., im linken unteren Bereich das charakteristische ligierte Monogramm der Künstlerin, unter Passepartout und hinter Glas gerahmt, Passepartoutausschnitt ca. 28,5 x 23,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: verehelichte Fischer-Nagel, dt. Zeichnerin, Graphikerin, Buchillustratorin und Literatin (1907 Heidelberg bis 1975 Heidelberg), zunächst Vertreterin des Verismus und der Neuen Sachlichkeit, arbeitete später naturalistisch, ab 1924 Lehre zur Buchbinderin, 1925-29 Studium an der Akademie Karlsruhe bei Hermann Gehri, Karl Hubbuch und Wilhelm Schnarrenberger sowie Meisterschülerin bei Walter Conz, 1929 Übersiedlung nach Berlin, 1930-32 Studium an den Vereinigten Staatsschulen Berlin bei Emil Orlik und Hans Meid, 1933 Rompreis und mit ihrem Mann Hans Fischer bis 1936 Aufenthalt in der Villa Massimo in Rom, Studienaufenthalte in Paris und Spanien, ab 1945 in Heidelberg, Quelle: Vollmer und Wikipedia.

A good suite of wooden Empire style chairs and sofa, French mid 19th century, set of three chairs and sofa with cushions, all with scroll end arms, dark blue silk upholstery with embossed gold paper denture and scallop decoration, floral decoration to front, chair seat backs with oval floral decoration, sofa with central scene of a classic seated lady with table and bird cage, cushions with gold edging and flower decoration, all 5 ¼” (13.3cm) tall, (condition, generally very good, some repairs to silk, slight fraying to sofa and one cushion with tears), (4 items).

A Victorian Chesterfield sofa in modern lime green corduroy upholstery raised on ringed and turned front legs to brass caps and castors, 198 cm wide x 85 cm deep x 75 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whilst over all in sound condition, springs and upholstery seem intact, there is some sign of wear and tear conducive with age and use, some staining and discolouration and scuff marks to the feet which may or may not be polished out. Frame appears to be intact, though of course cannot be seen. See images for further details
