Gerald Hembdon Seymour Rose – Reclining Female Nude on a Green Sofa, 20th century oil on canvas, artist’s name and address verso, 45cm x 65cm, within a painted composition frame. Note: Gerald Rose (1935-2023) was a renowned British illustrator and author of children's books. He studied at the Lowestoft School of Art, followed by the Royal Academy Schools and gained prominence in the 1960s, often collaborating with his wife, Elizabeth Rose. Their book ‘Old Winkle and the Seagulls’ won the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal in 1960. Provenance: from the estate of the late Gerald Rose.
