A Victorian button backed sofa on turned front supports, 157cms wide.Condition ReportThe back left caster is missing; the front right caster is detached but present; the back right caster is a different model to the two front casters. One button front is missing, there are small areas of stitching is loose, especially to the bottom front left hand side, the upholstery is slightly grubby but the the sofa is solid, good overall condition

From the age of twelve to twenty-four, he followed art education at the drawing school of Anderlecht. In 1905, Colin enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where he was taught by the painter Isidore Verheyden (1846-1905), one of the great masters of the 19th C. Colin, winner of the famous Prix de Rome in 1910, had his workshop in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, one of the municipalities in the greater Brussels area (link).
