ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLYby Mik Richardson1450 mm long x 920 mm high x 700 mm deep, 36 kgThis design depicts the colours and furnishings of a regency drawing room, with the back incorporating busts of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy. The design captures the classical elegance of high society of the period. The artist loves watching period dramas, especially the architecture, furnishings and costumes, and his design is a mix of these from the time of Jane Austen. The front is a Georgian sofa adorned in gold and soft blue green sheen fabric set in a parlour with Wedgwood blue and gold wallpaper. On the sofa lies one of Jane's books, a pair of gloves and a riding crop. Mik RichardsonMik is a Norfolk-based artist who has run his own mural, design and spray art workshop business since leaving the RAF in 2006. As well as producing over 400 murals and projects for businesses, school, councils and communities, he has also painted 41 sculptures to date and raised over £150,000 at charity auctions. In 2016 this included a Snowdog complete with police uniform, which raised £13,000. He has also worked on nearly 100 sculptures with schools and communities.

The upholstery in this lot does not comply with the 1988 (Fire & Fire Furnishing) Regulations, unless sold to a known exporter or upholsterer it will be cut from the frame before leaving the premises.
