A LATE VICTORIAN TWO SEAT MAHOGANY SOFA BY HOWARD & SONS, LATE 19TH CENTURY With cream damask loose covers, the sofa stamped '17627 9059 HOWARD & SONS LTD. BERNERS ST.' to one back leg, the casters stamped 'HOWARD & SONS LONDON' 88cm high, 183cm wide, 90cm deep Together with five printed cotton cushions Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are some losses, restorations and observations including:The loose cover is various cream linen fabrics, some damask, another checked. There are some stains, marks, holes and patches to the covers. The calico upholstery has some discolouration.The upholstery is relatively recent, with black cloth to the underside, so it is not possible to inspect any of the frame.The sofa legs are worn and have some chips, nail holes, cracks and repairs and the casters are loose in the legs with later screws.The five cushions made from 19th century printed fabric, with some seams mid cushion, and some marks, wear and repairs.Please see the additional condition report photographs as a visual reference of condition. A 'PRIORY' SOFA BY ROBERT KIME LTD 93cm high, 245cm wide, 120cm deep Together with five cushions comprising two with Swat silk embroidered cushions, North West Pakistan, circa 1900, and three with printed quilt cloth Condition Report: THE SOFA:Overall there are some scratches, marks and abrasions consistent with age and use.Observations include:There is some compression to the upholstery of the arms and back, one top corner has a raw edge of the fabric untucked from the upholstery.The fringed braid has some fading, a few pulled threads and is a little stiff so that the fringe does not 'hang' vertically.There is a linear mark to the top of the back of the sofa, possibly from the sofa being against a wall or a piece of furniture.The printed linen fabric of the three seat cushions has softened, worn and faded to the front portion and there are some marks of use.THE LOOSE CUSHIONS:The two Swat geometric embroidered cushions are threadbare to three sides and extensively worn and marked to the fourth side.The small pale cushion has holes, from wear and also probably from corrosion from the dye from the printed pattern as the holes correspond to the print. There are some stitched repairs.The Indian printed muslin cushion with some wear.The largest cushion with a patch, corroded holes and some repairs and other wear.Please see the additional condition report photographs as a visual reference of condition.Additional measurements:The clearance from the ground to the underside of the sofa (i.e. the height of legs and castors) is 17.5cm Condition Report Disclaimer
