Lacking brass caps and castors, which have been replaced with metal studs. Overall appears in fair structural and cosmetic condition and is perfectly usable in its current condition. A George III early 19th-century mahogany sofa table - writing desk. Rectangular form with drop leaf extensions on either side. Two frieze drawers to centre, all being raised on lyre-shaped legs united by a crinoline stretcher with paw feet terminating castors. Measuring approx. 72cm x 100cm x 60cm.

A 1987 Laura Ashley sofa cover from the Bloomsbury collection in Queen Mary terracotta. The Bloomsbury collection reproduced a number of prints, originally designed by Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell in the 1930s whilst residing in Charleston, a farmhouse on the Sussex Downs. Oktober 2015, Lot 217; Privatsammlung HamburgMit selbstgewiss-ruhigem Blick schaut die Malerin Marguerite Hayet (1898-1978), die Frau von André Lhote, uns an. Im Jahr ihrer Hochzeit 1909 malte Lhote sie gleich zweifach auf einem Bildnis, links die Ehefrau auf dem Sofa sitzend und rechts – als Bild im Bild – die Malerin im Porträt. Im Hinblick auf die Komposition, großflächig und dicht an die Bildränder gerückt, behandelte er sie nahezu gleich; farblich differenzierte er zwischen der Ehefrau und der Malerin. Während er für Marguerite links warme Rot- und Brauntöne wählte, erscheint sie rechts in einem pinkfarbenen Kleid vor einem stahlblauen oder grünen Hintergrund. Im Folgejahr 1910 erhielten beide durch die Vermittlung des Kritikers Joseph Granié ein Stipendium für die Villa Medici Libre in Orgeville in der Normandie. Bei dem vorliegenden Doppelporträt handelt es sich um ein frühes kubistisches Werk des nicht nur als Maler, sondern auch als Lehrer und Theoretiker tätigen Künstlers. Nach dem Besuch der großen Cézanne-Ausstellung 1907 in Paris entwickelte er eine ausdrucksstarke Spielart des Kubismus, die er hier vor allem in den Gesichtern umsetzte.

A Modern Two-Seat Settee, upholstered in cream cloth, on turned legs and castors, 82ins wideDepth of the sofa is 36ins. Height is 30.5ins. The colour is a yellow-gold with cream highlights. Overall the upholstery appears to be in a good clean condition with no obvious tears, rips or stains. It is still firm and comfortable. Castors run relatively free and easily and there is some light wear commensurate with age to the feet. Overall the sofa appears to be in a good condition.
