A WILLIAM IV ROSEWOOD SOFA TABLE, C1830, FITTED WITH TWO OPPOSING DRAWERS AND TWO BLIND DRAWERS BETWEEN LEAF CARVED TABLET, ON DOUBLE C SCROLL STANDARDS UNITED BY A LOTUS STRETCHER, ON LOBED FEET WITH BRASS CASTORS, 76CM H; 66 X 137CM Ring handles replaced, structurally sound, old blackened mark on top
A George III style mahogany small settee, with arched back, rollover arms, blind fret carved legs and spandrels. Height to top of back 86 cm, width across arms 128 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The maximum sofa depth is +/- 70 cm. Seat depth 49.5 cm. Seat width between arms at front 81 cm. The upholstery is a little dirty, particularly around the tops of the arms. There is some rubbing. The settee frame is structurally fairly sound. There is slight movement at the joints on the rear legs which would easily rectify. There is no movement of any significance at the front. The front right hand spandrel has been reglued into position. There are minor scuffs and nibbles around the bottoms of the feet as one would expect. There are no springs protruding from beneath the settee. The webbing is however not visible. There is no evidence of any woodworm.
