A late 19th / early 20th century pink velour upholstered button-back sofa; turned slightly tapering front legs terminating in castors (162cm wide x 67cm deepest)Condition Report: This has come from a local private clearance and the same family have owned this piece for many years. Generally the pink button back upholstery is in fairly good order commensurate with age. Looking at it from the front there is some 'lightening' on the left hand front of the arm and lesser so to the right of the front arm. It appears sturdy overall and fit for purpose, the sides and back of the upholstery appear in good condition. There are some slight scuffing marks and slight darker spots to the seat of the sofa but this requires close inspection to be visible. The square back legs appear to be original and in reasonable condition for their age. There is a small separation at the back right-hand leg but this in no affects the sturdiness of the item. The sofa is obviously strung and is visible through a small tear when seen through the underside. The wood is probably walnut and the front legs are in good order commensurate with age. Through usage the springs and horsehair filling of the main seat is worn but could be easy remedied by a restorer.
