A George III mahogany and crossbanded sofa table, circa 1810, the hinged rectangular top above a drawer and false drawer and opposing drawer and false drawer, on trestle style supports united by a turned stretcher, on reeded downswept legs, brass paw caps and castors, 75cm high, 75cm high, 135cn wide, 69cm deep condition report:** Marks, scratches and abrasions consistent with age and use. Some marks, chips and losses, old closed splits, replacements to veneers with some repair using filler. Handles replaced. Further images are available for visual reference to condition
A William IV rosewood framed and upholstered sofa, in the manner of Gillows, circa 1835, the damask upholstered back and scrolling arms fronted by scrolling carved supports, the upholsered seat above a gadrooned frieze flanked by stylised flowerheads, on lotus carved legs, and gadrooned bun feet, 86cm high, 216cm wide, 87cm deep. The overall quality and carved detail of this sofa is also reflected in other seat furniture made by Gillow or attributed to the Gillows workshop. Overall construction appears fairly sound. We cannot comment of the originality of the underlying construction that we cannot see. Height from floor to top of seat is 38cm high, depth from front to back of seat is 65cm deep, width between the arms is 175cm wide
